ARE WE HEADED TO A NARCISSISTIC GOSPEL?

Narcissism is defined as “excessive admiration for or fascination with ones self”. Some have assumed that “loving ones neighbor as your self” implies a justifiable self love attitude and  self gratification with the expectation of receiving everything the Lord has for me in the way of material blessings, success and prosperity. This despite what the Bible says in Phil. 2:13 “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves”, and Col. 3:12, “therefore as Gods chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  And in another place “you have not because you ask to spent it on your own selfish interests”.
