Sometimes in our casual Christianity we  tend to separate our behavior from our salvation, but Paul in 2  Cor. 13:5 pointedly begs to differ. Just like children that are expected to grow up, and put away childish things, we Christians are expected to constantly be in a state of maturing. So, when our bad sinful habits don’t diminish and our ungodly behavior continues our saved position is rightly called into question. “You have not repented of your impurity, sexual immorality, and eagerness for lustful pleasure. Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. TEST YOURSELVES. We pray that you will become mature.”  2 Cor. 12:21b, 13: 11b, NLT
